4th SES Fun Run

Smithville Elementary students and staff will take part in their 4th Fun Run on Friday. Students have been training and logging miles all year during PE while learning the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The Fun Run began four years ago and has become a yearly tradition - and a healthy one at that! Many local community members, business, and school departments support this yearly event. Through donations of time, money, water, and fruit our school is able to enjoy an early morning run around the high school's field. Donations of fruit, water, and monetary gifts allow each student and staff member the opportunity to participate with a healthy snack and t-shirt at the finish line. Each year the high school athletic and Pals organizations have assisted and even run with the elementary students. Of course one of the big highlights is the student(s) that have the winning design get to run with Sami. Sami is the school dog and is a supporter of the Fun Run each year.
The entire elementary school will leave for the high school around 8:30 am and plan to arrive back on campus by 10:30 am. Immediately following the run our students, staff, and volunteers will pose for our annual group photo.

If you need to contact us please call the high school at 512-237-2451 until 10:00 am. If you arrive late to school please drive to the back of the high school and find one of the staff members to report in.
